Allegations refuted

ISLAMABAD, Jan 26: The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has described Interior Minister Sikandar Iqbal’s allegations against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif as “a mockery of facts.”

The party’s information secretary, Siddiqul Farooq, on Saturday said Nawaz Sharif had never allowed foreign bases in Pakistan nor could the FBI dare raid religious schools in Pakistan when the PML-N was in power.

Referring to the Kargil episode, the spokesman said the military strategy had failed, causing a great loss of life. In that situation, Gen Pervez Musharraf sought help from the prime minister asking him to visit Washington to resolve the crisis.
