Shooting trials next month

KARACHI, Jan 25: The second set of shooting trials for IX SAF Games will be held at Gun Club Islamabad from Feb 2-8, a spokesman of National Rifle Association (NRAP) announced on Saturday.

He said currently 41 shooters in pistol, rifle and shotgun events including nine women are attending the first phase of training camp under two coaches from Ukraine and one Pakistani coach.

Camp is being conducted at Naval Shooting Complex at PNS Karsaz.

Around 30 to 36 shooting squad for the SAF Games will be finalised during the national championship which will be held at Islamabad from March 16-22.

Following will appear in the trials.

Pistol: Zahid Ali, Kashif Riaz, Irshad Ali, Muhammad Imran, Ghazanfar Abbas, Arshad Awan, Tariq Manzoor, M.Yousuf (Navy), Mustqeem, M.Azam (Army).

Women: Shagufta Zulfiqar, Hajra Nasreen, Arifa Sarwar (Army).

Shotgun: Khurram Inam, Ahmed Sultan, Amin Karamat, Babar Baig, Usman Sadiq, Capt. Mahmood Sultan (Sindh), Munir Hussain, Syed Noor, R.M.Shafiq, Raja Rab Nawaz, Brig. Sikander Jawed, Col.Fakhar Alam, Dr Asad (Army).

Rifle: Dawood Jan, Ayaz Tahir, Firdus Khan, M.Hanif, Khalid Bin Anwar (Navy), M.Asghar (PAF), M.Mushtaq, Wasim Sajjad, M.Kaleem (Army).

Women: Nazish Khan, Urooj Fatima, Nadia Saeed (Navy), Sajida Shafiq, Iffat Batul, and Farhat Nasreen (Army).—APP
