KARACHI, Jan 23: Four ships carrying containers, steel, chemicals and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was light where three ships, Kota Teguh, Hyundai Advance, to unload and load containers and Uni Tank to load molasses were berthed after the sailing of four.

The ships, which departed included Kota Intan, APL Costa Rica, Hyundai Advance and Dolvi, while Sorena, Kota Teguh, Iron-D and Mercs Kirinda are due to sail out on Friday.

The total cargo handled soared to 0.109m tons thanks to larger handling of liquid tonnage. The export cargo of 24,514 tons comprised general commodities and molasses and import tonnage of 84,593 tons mostly of oils.

The following ships are due on Friday: Isbel Knutsen, to load 16,000 tons of molasses, NCC Najd, with 8,500 tons of chemicals, E.O.S.I, with containers and Sea Dream steel.

KARACHI, Jan 23: Three ships carrying chemicals arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Thursday.

Berth occupancy remained on higher side as seven ships, Verily, Msc Aurora, Safmarine Vinson, Asante, Jian She-31, Devon and Mass Merit were busy in loading/discharging wheat, containers, coal, edible oil and furnace oil.

A cargo volume of 54,794 tons comprising 40,663 tons of import cargo and 14,030 tons of export cargo, inclusive of cargo carried in 1,203 containers (Teus), was handled.

Two ships, Msc Aurora and Jian She-31 sailed out, while Safmarine Vinson was due to leave the port. Chemrald Luna, Francisca Schulte and Yodogawa were expected to take berths at Marginal Wharf, QICT and EVTL respectively.
