Asif cautions Musharraf

By Our Correspondent

LARKANA, Jan 22: Jailed PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday cautioned President Gen Pervez Musharraf against extending support to the United States, saying the president himself would be responsible if Washington brought pressure to bear on Pakistan to change its policy.

Mr Zardari was talking to newsmen in Naudero where he had gone to condole the death of Shirin Amir Begum, the first wife of the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The former senator denied speculations that he had been released under some deal with the government, saying his release on parole was his right as he had to visit his in-laws to offer condolences.
