KARACHI, Jan 22: District Coordination Officer Shafiqur Rehman Paracha has taken notice of public complaints regarding heavy dust at the Guru Mandir and Old Exhibition roundabouts where development work is going on.

The DCO visited the roundabouts to review the pace of work. He directed the officials to take necessary measures and ensure that the problems being faced by people because of the ongoing development works were removed.

He said that to make the dust settle down, sprinkling of water should be done till such time those Choarangis (crossings) were carpeted.

Paracha directed that construction material lying around the Choarangis be lifted once the work is completed. The DCO was informed that 80 per cent work on the roundabouts had been completed, and the carpetting would start in the first week of February.

The DCO also inspected the work on the sewerage line at Jehnagir Road and directed that the closed section of the road should be opened as early as possible.

He was informed that the sewerage line had been laid, the road repair work was in progress and the closed track of the road would be opened to traffic after its carpetting on Sunday.—APP
