KARACHI: KBCA told to provide relief

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 22: The Sindh minister for local government, Mohammad Hussain, has asked the KBCA to provide relief to low- income groups by reducing the regularization fee on small houses and flats.

The minister, who visited the KBCA, on Tuesday to review the working of the KBCA, urged the KBCA chief controller of buildings, Brig (Retd) A. S. Nasir, to send him a proposal concerning lowering of fee with regard to regularization of small illegally constructed houses.

Emphasising the need for maintaining individual status of the KBCA, the CCOB opined that the distribution of the organisation’s staff among the city’s 18 town administrations has given a rise to corruption, besides there was now no proper way to evaluate the performance and attendance of the officials working with the town administrations.
