KARACHI: Challan date extended

KARACHI, Jan. 20: Justice Shabbir Ahmed of Sindh High Court who is also administrative judge of Anti-Terrorism Courts on Monday extended date for submitting challan of Asif Zaheer, an accused in Sheraton Hotel bomb blast case in Karachi, for Jan 25.

Police were to submit challan of Asif on Monday but Investigation Officer submitted that another accused Rizwan had been arrested in this case and requested for extending time.

Asif Zaheer was arrested by police on Dec 14, 2002, with his accomplices Muhammad Yousuf and Sohail Noor with explosive materials in Karachi.

During investigation, Asif admitted that he had planted explosive device in vehicle used in Sheraton Hotel bomb blast which claimed lives of eleven French naval technicians and three Pakistanis on May, 8 2002.—PPI
