Ibad assures promotion of industries


KARACHI, Jan 17: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has assured industrialists that they will be provided all the facilities and incentives available to other industrialists in the country and there will be no discrimination.

He was talking to a SITE Association’s delegation which called on him at Governor House on Friday. The delegation was led by the Association’s chairman Haroon Faruqi.

The governor said Karachi is the backbone of the country’s economy and the promotion of industries and investment here would lead to national progress and stability.

He said the policies about industrial development would not only be continued, but strengthened further.

He said the provincial government would extend full cooperation to eliminate discriminatory attitudes and promote investment-friendly atmosphere.

He said industrial sector plays a pivotal role towards a country’s progress and stability besides providing jobs and upliftment of the people.

Ibad said the government would take all possible steps to check instability and ensure continuity of the policies. He said for setting up more industries, it is very essential that existing industrial units witness peaceful and encouraging environment.

He said the problems pending for years would be resolved through joint efforts.

The delegation members hoped that law and order would be improved further.

They apprised the governor of their grievances about water, power and property tax.—APP
