By Abdul Sami Paracha

KOHAT, Jan 12: Two robbers were killed and another arrested during an encounter with police on the Kohat-Rawalpindi road on Sunday.

One AK-47 assault rifle, one 12-bore repeater gun, two pistols and 180 cartridges were also seized by the police.

Giving details of the encounter a police official told Dawn that the robbers after robbing the two men of the money tried to escape into the nearby mountains, but on spotting the police party they opened fire which was retaliated.

The police were later joined by another team led by SSP Abid Ali. Anwar Sultan and Khursheed, both residents of Kharmatu village, were killed in the crossfire, whereas Tipu Sultan was arrested.
