KARACHI: Maternity home to have more facilities

KARACHI, Jan 10: The DCO of Karachi, Shafiqur Rehman Paracha, visited Manghopir Maternity Home in Site Town on Friday and took a serious note of poor maintenance of the hospital. After reviewing the situation personally, he took several decisions for an improvement in utilities and other facilities there.

The DCO directed the hospital administration to seek cooperation of the town management for the improvement in sanitary conditions and supply of adequate water on urgent basis.

He agreed that a lady RMO should be made available at the maternity home and that the RMO and certain other staffers should be provided residence facility within the hospital premises.

Another decision taken on the occasion pertained to the provision of medicines in a sufficient quantity. The DCO said that deputation of trainee doctors of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in city government dispensaries turn by turn would be considered. He ordered provision of necessary equipment for the maternity home’s labour room.

Directing the concerned officials to ensure compliance of his directives, he said that he would visit the hospital next month again to see the progress.—APP
