Review petition against teachers regularization dismissed

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 9: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the review petition of the Punjab government against the regularization of 700 lecturers in colleges, and directed the government to implement the court decision within one month.

The SC bench, comprising Justice Mian Mohammad Ajmal, Justice Hamid Mirza and Mohammad Nawaz Abbasi, dismissed the review petition filed by the Punjab government.

The lecturers were represented by senior advocate Mohammad Akram Shaikh, and the Punjab government was represented by Advocate General, Punjab, Maqbool Ellahi Malik.

The lecturers were released from their service about two years ago, but they were reinstated by the Supreme Court.

All the provinces except Punjab implemented the federal government policy for regularization.
