HBL declares profit rates

KARACHI, Jan 9: Habib Bank Ltd on Thursday declared Profit Rates on various categories of PLS Deposits for the 2nd half of the year ended December 31, 2002, says a press release.

Following is the detail of the profit rates: PLS Savings Bank Account (SB), 3pc.

PLS Special Saving Deposits (SSD): On average saving deposits of Rs3 million and over but less than Rs25 million, 3.25pc. On deposits of Rs25 million and over but less than Rs50 million, 3.50pc. On deposits of Rs50 million and over but less than Rs100 million, 3.75pc. On deposits of Rs100 million and over but less than Rs250 million 4pc. On deposits of Rs250 million and over but less than Rs500 million, 4.25pc. On deposits of Rs500 million and over but less than Rs1000 million, 4.50pc. On deposits of Rs1000 million and above, 4.75pc.

PLS TDRs: 1 month, 4.75pc: 2 months, 5pc: 3 months, 5.25pc: 6 months, 5.75pc: 1 year and 1-1/2 years, 6.25pc: 2 years and 2-1/2 years, 6.50pc: 3 years and 3-1/2 years 6.75pc: 4 years and 4-1/2 years, 7pc: 5 years 7.25pc: over 5 years, 8pc.

PLS Khas TDRs: For 1 year, 6.50pc: for 1-1/2 years, 6.75pc: for 2 years and 2-1/2 years, 7pc: for 3 years and 3-1/2 years, 7.25pc: for 4 years and 4-1/2 years, 7.50pc: for 5 years, 7.75pc: over 5 years, 8.25pc.

PLS-SNTDs: 07 to 29 days notice, 4.25pc: 30 days & over notice, 4.75pc.

PLS-Monthly Income Scheme (3 years) (MIS), 7pc. PLS-Converted Rupee Saving Deposits, 6.50pc. Crorepati Deposit Certificate (Discontinued) for 3 months, 3pc. PLS-Monthly Income Scheme (5 years) (Discontinued), 7pc. PLS Bulk Converted Rupee Saving Deposits, 7pc. PLS Golden Term Deposits, 5.25pc. PLS Golden Saving Deposits, 3pc.

Financial Institutions TDR 3 months (F.I.TDR): On deposits of Rs10 million and over but less than Rs25 million, 3.75pc. On deposits of Rs25 million and over but less than Rs50 million, 4pc. On deposits of Rs50 million and over but less than Rs100 million, 4.25pc. On deposits of Rs100 million and over but less than Rs250 million 4.50pc. On deposits of Rs25 million and over but less than Rs500 million, 4.75pc. On deposits of Rs500 million and over but less than Rs1000 million 5pc. On deposits of Rs1000 million and over, 5.25pc.

Soneri Bank

Deposit Category: PLS Savings Account, 7pc: PLS Soneri Savings Accounts for financial institutions/banks, 4pc: up to 20,000,000, 6.50pc: over 20,000,000 to 50,000,000, 7pc: Over 50,000,000, 7.50pc.

Notice deposits, 7 days 5pc: 30 days 6pc.

Term Deposits, 1 month, 6.50pc, 3 months, 7.50pc: 6 months 8pc: 1 year, 8.50pc: 2 years, 8.75pc: 3 years and above, 9pc, says a press release.

Ceylon Bank

Our Staff Reporter adds: Bank of Ceylon has announced 6.75 per cent return on saving deposits and 6 per cent return on 7-29 days special notice deposits for six months ending on December 31.

The bank has announced 9 per cent return on Ceybank golden deposits of Rs5 million and above.

Following are the rates on fixed deposits: one month 6.5pc, three months 8pc, six months 8.5pc, one year 9pc and two years 9.5pc.
