LARKANA, Jan 6: The MPA from Dokri, Aziz Jatoi, on Monday criticized the arrest of the chieftain of the Junejo clan, Sardar Akbar Junejo, and has termed it a case of political victimization.

Junejo had been picked up in the murder case of the FIA inspector, Hussain Ali Sargani, after his name was implicated in abetment of the crime.

Aziz Jatoi said that Junejo had been falsely implicated in the murder case and he would take up the issue on the floor of the Sindh Assembly.

Meanwhile, Sadrar Akbar Junejo has denied charges, saying that the Sargani and the Jiskani clans had their own axes to grind.

He stressed on the need for holding an inquiry by an honest officer into the matter.

Meanwhile, a peaceful procession was staged in Dokri to protest against the arrest of Sardar Akbar Junejo.

Dokri town also remained partially shut on Monday as a mark of protest against the arrest of the chieftain of the Junejo clan.

The police would seek an extension of the remand of Junejo on Tuesday, the in-charge of the police investigation wing said.
