KARACHI, Jan 2: Twenty vehicles — nine cars and 11 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Thursday, police said.

Five cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

Five motorcycles were hijacked. Six others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Thursday to have recovered six cars and five motorcycles.

CASE LODGED: Police registered an FIR on Thursday night on the death of a recently-married woman, who was allegedly set on fire by her mother-in-law in Model Colony on Wednesday morning.

A duty officer at Model Colony police station confirmed that the dead girl’s brother Owais had lodged an FIR at the police station.

The entire family, including Ramin’s (the victim girl, aged 20) husband, Adnan Hameed, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, have been named in the FIR.

No arrest had however been made till our going to press.

KILLED: A teenage boy was found murdered in Gadap on Thursday.

Police said that the body of Mohammed Ishaq, aged 16, stuffed into a gunny bag, was found in the Malir river near Jumma goth in Gadap. His throat was slit.

The boy was resident of Jumma goth and had been missing for the past few days.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
