KARACHI: Police to launch public welfare projects


KARACHI Jan 2: The National Police Foundation (NPF) on Thursday decided to launch transport service for public and to establish nine vocational training centres in Azad Kashmir and Balochistan.

This was decided in a meeting of the board of directors of the foundation, presided over by the Federal Interior Secretary, Tasneem Noorani. The foundation also decided to construct multi-story plazas in Islamabad and Karachi. The earnings from these projects will be used for the welfare of the police employees and their families.

NFP Managing Director Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, Secretary, Sikandar Hayat Shaheen, Project Director, Southern Region-Karachi, K K Ahmed, Director Housing, Major Laiq Ahmed Khan, and Additional Director, Shaikh Abdul Hannan, were also present.—PPI
