KARACHI: Power theft unearthed

KARACHI, Jan 1: A KESC surveillance and theft-detection team, with the help of an Army-Monitoring Team, unearthed a case of large-scale power theft in the Centre of Sports & Culture and Blue-Star Marriage Lawn in Gulberg, says a press release.

The centre of sports and culture was stealing 45kw electricity through a three-phase cable directly from a KESC pole and supplying it to the marriage lawn. At the same place, a fountain and nearby lights were being lit bypassing a meter.

On the whole, 75kw electricity was being stolen, and 85kw load was found illegally connected.—PPI
