KARACHI, Dec 31: Three ships carrying containers and chemicals and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Beauty River, Kota Teguh, Kota Wajar, APL Portugal to unload and load containers and Khairpur to offload general cargo were berthed after the departure of three.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves showed a modest rise as the total tonnage rose to 62,503 tons comprising 21,211 tons of export cargo including 12,896 tons of rice and 41,292 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Ievoli Shine, with chemicals, Barkatka, to load molasses and Iron-D to unload and load containers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Dec 31: A cargo volume of 44,051 tons comprising 35,959 tons of import and 8,092 tons of export tonnage, in addition to 488 containers (Teus) was handled during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Two ships, Maria Bottiglieri and Emerald Star carrying general cargo and high speed diesel oil were due to take berths at Marginal Wharf and Fotco Oil Terminal.

Six ships were busy in loading/discharging containers, chemicals, general cargo, high speed diesel and coal.
