Mustafa snatches hat trick for Azad

KARACHI, Dec 30: Ghulam Mustafa poached the first hat trick of All-Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto football tournament qualifying round to help Azad XI rout Young Khokhrapar 4-1 on Monday.

Mustafa found the target in the 11th minute. He grabbed his second four minutes later and completed his hat trick in the 52nd minute.

Mohammad Farooq further damaged Young Khokhrapar by slamming the fourth in the 59th minute. Mohammad Moosa got consolation goal for the losers in the 68th minute.

Shah Nawaz came into action late into the second session to give Shahzad Mohammadan a narrow 2-1 triumph over Hilal Deccan.

Mohammad Abbas of Shahzad Mohammadan drew first blood in the 14th minute only to see Rizwan Ahmad nabbing the equaliser in the 27th minute. Shah’s 68th-minute raid finally finished the proceedings.

Allah Bukhsh’s late second half strike guided Mahfooz XI to a narrow 1-0 victory over Osama Sports. After a barren first period, Allah Bukhsh fired home the winner in the 69th minute.

Burma Mohammadan defeated Bilal Mujahid by same margin thanks to a the match-winning goal from Mohammad Usman in the 25th minute, Maqbool Ahmad’s 55th minute effort helped Mohammadi Sports prevail over Young Jam Kunda 1-0.

Malir Red, aided by Mohammad Shahid and Lal Mohammad goals, overpowered a fighting Adil Sports 2-1.

The winners went 1-0 up through Shahid who took the lead in the 16th minute, while Lal Mohammad made it 2-0 in the 54th minute.

Azam Ali reduced the margin but his effort went in vain as Adil Sports failed to equalise.

A second half burst by Najeebullah and Jawaid Ali propelled Young Shaheen to

3-1 victory over Korangi Baloch.

Young Shaheen got off to a flying start through Naseeb Gul’s 22nd-minute goal which was levelled seven minutes later by striker Mohammad Adam.

Najeeb pulled the second in the 57th minute and Jawaid completed the tally on 63 minutes.

Shafi XI defeated Future Star and Usman Shaheed beat Sabra Baloch 4-3 on penalty shootouts after both the games ended in goalless draw in the stipulated time.

Malir Mohammad got the better of Baloch Club 4-2 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw in the regulation time.

Nadeem Ahmad scored for Baloch Club in the 28th minute, while Malir Mohammadan got the equaliser through Mohammad Arif in the 63rd minute.
