Drawback on polystyrene allowed

ISLAMABAD, Dec 30: The Central Board of Revenue has allowed duty drawback on export of various kinds of polystyrene aiming at enhancing its exports.

The duty drawback would be admissible on export of these goods retrospectively from May 10, 2001, said a customs notification issued on Saturday.

The rebate at the rate of Rs2.29 per kilograms would be allowed on export of general purpose polystyrene and its raw materials — styrene monomer, mineral oil, stearic acid, zinc stearate, antioxidant, EBA or WAX-Lubricant, lubricant, colour or brightener, calcium stearate, PA or PE extrusion bags; Rs2.02 per kg on export of high impact polystyrene and its raw materials — styrene monomer mineral oil, stearic acid, BHT (8), antioxidant, EBA/7, lubricant 11, colour or brightener, BR rubber, calcium stearate and PA or PE extrusion bags.

The duty drawback at the rate of Rs2.05 per kg would be allowed on export of expandable polystyrene and its raw materials — styrene monomer, LUB 919(2), LUB 909(3), BPO 75 per cent, TBPB, poly or wax, pentane, TCP, CACO and PA or PE extrusion bags.

The facility would be available to Pak Petrochemical Industries (Pvt) Ltd, Karachi, said the notification.
