KARACHI, Dec 28: Thousands of people flocked to the Expo Centre in Gulshan-i-Iqbal where All About Lifestyles, a three-day exhibition organized by Dawn, entered its second day on Saturday.
Organizers said one of the highlights of the day was a spelling competition. They added that more than 550 children from over 200 schools had taken part in the spelling competition.
They said a dog show would be held on Sunday afternoon. “At least 97 dogs will participate in the dog show which is being held in collaboration with the Kennel Club of Pakistan. Last year 63 dogs took part in the show,” they said.
The organizers said a total of 106 stalls had been set up by organizations showcasing their products. They explained that the exhibition enabled a common man to examine a wide array of products that affected his lifestyle.
“The exhibition also helps people make intelligence choices after updating their knowledge about new versions of various products, especially goods related with information technology.”
The 106 stalls in the three halls of the Expo Centre buzzed with activity as people bought consumers goods without having to haggle over the price because the companies taking part in the exhibition were selling their products at knock-down rates.
The companies taking part in the exhibition include automobile manufacturers, consumer electronics, interiors, insurance, internet service providers, IT-related products and services, home appliances, banks, financial services, travel and tourism, fashion, cosmetics, edibles and consumer goods.
The organizers said a baby show had been held on Friday in a hall reserved for the functions which would take place on the sidelines of the exhibition. “Apart from the well-attended baby show, people took a great deal of interest in a music show at which artists from Sindh performed on Friday and Saturday. The music show will continue on Sunday as well.”
They said on Saturday the legendary fire dancer from Sanghar, Mian Kishan, had enthralled the audience.
The organizers hoped that on Sunday more people would visit the exhibition because it was a public holiday.
