SUKKUR, Dec 27: The federal minister for railways, Ghaus Bux Maher, inaugurated the new Sukkur Express along with its two lower class air-conditioned coaches in a ceremony at the Sukkur Railway Station on Thursday night.

The demand for lower class air-conditioned coaches on the Sukkur Express was a long-standing demand of the people of Sukkur, which has been finally met.

The running of this train has been lauded by not only the people of Sukkur, but also by those belonging to Jacobabad and Shikarpur as the new train will be starting and ending its journey at Jacobabad.

At least 18 lower air-conditioned births have been provided each to Jacobabad and Shikarpur as a quota. The remaining 140 births and seats in the lower air-conditioned coaches will be catering to the requirements of the people of Sukkur and Khairpur in the form of advance reservations.

The main feature of this train includes a 100kw generator for the lower air-conditioned coaches and several generators for the rest to be used for lights and fans.

JOINS: Former president of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Sukkur district, Syed Pir Ali Shah, joined the PML-F at the Kingri House, Karachi, on Tuesday.

This announcement was made here on Thursday through a press release of the PML-F.

PML-F chief Pir Pagaro and other party leaders were present on the occasion.
