KARACHI, Dec 23: The State Bank of Pakistan has withdrawn the travel condition for issuing foreign currency travellers’ cheques.
A circular issued by the State Bank on Monday instructs banks to issue travellers’ cheques to foreign and Pakistani (resident and non-resident) nationals up to the prescribed limit against surrendering of an equal amount of foreign exchange in cash.
On February 13 last the State Bank has restricted the issuance of travellers’ cheques to foreign travel only on payment of foreign exchange of an equal amount.
