SKARDU, Dec 21: The Pakistan army organized a three-day free medical camp at Partuk High School, 150 kilometres off here in Ghanche district.

Maj Dr Ahsanul Haque, who is in charge of the camp, told local journalists that the main objective of the camp was to give basic health education and training to the children of the area.

Hundreds of patients, belonging to different villages and towns located close to the Line of Control, are being provided treatment and medicines free of charge at the camp.

Students of class 9 and 10 are being trained on how to provide first-aid, so that this skill could prove handy in times of emergency, he said.

The medical camp is equipped with facilities for conducting minor operation, X-Ray, ultrasound, ENT, and dental treatment.
