WASHINGTON, Dec 20: An American soldier was wounded on Friday in a rocket attack in a mountainous region of Afghanistan, the US military said.
The US Central Command, in a statement released from its headquarters in Tampa, Florida, said the soldier was hurt at a coalition “safe house” near the town of Asadabad.
The Central Command, which oversees US military operations in Afghanistan, did not give further details of the attack, nor did it identify the soldier or give the nature of the mission. —Reuters
