KARACHI, Dec 19: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has expressed deep sorrow over the blast and collapse of a building in Allahwala Town in Korangi area and has set up a five-member inquiry committee, headed by Korangi Town Nazim Abdul Jamil Khan, to investigate the matter.

On receipt of the information, the City Nazim cancelled his scheduled programmes and reached the site of the incident along with DCO Karachi Shafiqur Rehman Paracha.

On his directive, the police detained four persons, including the owner of the house, who had also stocked chemicals in the adjoining house.

The police have found a national identity card from the debris of the collapsed building, which belonged to one Babar, but the photograph pasted on the card is believed to be that of Asif Ramzi, a most-wanted terrorist.

If it is proved that Ramzi was using the card in the name of Babar then one of the deceased could be Asif Ramzi. However, investigations are still in progress on various clues.—APP
