LAHORE, Dec 17: Five-year-old roan, Familiar Master, is set to make it two in-a-row by going all out to win the feature event of the mid week Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse Wednesday.

Half-bred Familiar Master, is from Silver Veghar out-of-Dam by Decent and is contesting in the sixth and last race of the afternoon. The Taxila Plate is a class VII division V handicap race in which there are only eight runners barring last-minute withdrawals.

Like the feature event all races will be held over the sprinting distance of 1200 metres.

Familiar Master has already won a good race last week over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres on his first outing after a long absence from the track during the current season.

Although promoted a division upward, the roan-blue should pick up the spoils with a good rider in the saddle.

The ones most likely to pose a serious challenge to Familiar Master are bay mare Hot Spell and chestnut horse Rukhsh, who have come down in the handicap considerably but are showing no form.

A competitive card of six events will be decided in the afternoon. There are at least four to five chance animals in each race to make the event competitive.

Besides there are a couple of others in each race who are either maidens or have not won a race since long. If all are on job winner picking may prove difficult task for punters. The first race will be held at 12.30 pm.
