Two new judges to be appointed in dist courts

ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: The government has decided to appoint two new judges and their staff at the district courts of the federal capital to overcome shortage of judges.

The finance ministry, in a letter (No 2/13/96-ICT-1) to the Islamabad chief commissioner, had demanded expenditure statement regarding the appointment of two new judges and their staff. The staff members include two steno-typist (BPS-12), two reader/UDC (BPS-7), two Naib Qasid (BPS-1), one bailiff (BPS-2) and four process surveyor (BPS-1), sources said.

They said, for a long time, the judiciary had been asking the government to appoint seven new judges in the district courts for prompt disposal of pending and routine cases.
