KARACHI: Home for drug addicts planned

KARACHI, Dec 15: The Inspector-General of the Sindh Police, Syed Kamal Shah, has said a strategy is being chalked out, in cooperation with the Capital City Police and the city government, to deal with the problem of drug addicts in Karachi.

Under this strategy, not only would addicts be removed from public places but plans were also afoot for the establishment of a welfare home for them, he said while replying to phone calls from people during a radio programme, SOS Hour. The DIG Traffic, Saud Mirza, and the DIG Training, Yamin Khan, were also present on the occasion.

He asked people to contact Helpline “15” for redressal of their complaints and grievances whether these related to a police officer or any personnel or of any other nature. —APP
