KARACHI, Dec 13: Bandits shot a man to death in his house at Khokhrapar, Malir, on Friday.

Police said that bandits barged into the house of Abdullah, aged 60, held the occupants of the house at gunpoint and began collecting valuables. When Abdullah tried to put up resistance to the bandits, they opened fire on him and escaped. Abdullah was injured.

He was rushed to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where he died.

A woman died and her husband was injured when a minibus knocked them down in SITE.

Police said that Lal Jan, aged 50, with her husband, Abdul Rasheed, was travelling on a Vespa scooter when a speeding minibus of route N-4 hit them from behind.

The couple were rushed to Civil Hospital, where the woman died. Her husband was admitted to the hospital where he was stated to be in serious condition.

The bus driver drove off after the accident.

A cleaner was run over by a speeding truck in West Wharf.

Police said that a truck cleaner, Noor Saeed, aged 17, was run over by an unidentified truck in West Wharf. He was rushed to Civil Hospital where he died.

A fruit seller died when he came under the wheels of a speeding truck at Banaras Chowk, Pirabad.

Police said that a fruit seller, Waseel, aged 35, was knocked down by a speeding truck (PT-0467). He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police claimed to have arrested the truck driver, Rasheed, on the spot.

An elderly man died in a road accident on Shaheed-i-Millat Road. Police said that Sharafat, aged 70, was run over by an unidentified vehicle while walking across the main Shaheed-i-Millat Road.

He was rushed to the JPMC, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The driver of the vehicle drove off after the accident.
