Two PAF jets collide; pilots eject

QUETTA, Dec 10: Two F-7PG jet fighters of the Pakistan Air Force collided in mid-air and crashed near Mastung, some 65km south of here on Tuesday, official sources said.

Both pilots managed to eject immediately after their planes brushed against each other and were admitted to Combined Military Hospital, Quetta, with minor injuries.

According to sources two F-7PG jet fighters were on routine flights during which they collided and crashed in chooto and Baland Safad hilly area some 10kms away from Mastung Township.

“No one was injured or killed as both jets crashed in an open place,” Shoaib Gola district administrative officer Mastung district told this correspondent by telephone.

The two pilots involved in the accident are: Wing Commander Tariq and Flight-Lieutenant Mohsin.

The air headquarters has ordered an inquiry into the incident, official sources said.
