KARACHI, Dec 10: Two ships carrying general cargo and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active thanks to steady arrivals. As a result, six ships, Kota Waruna, Honor River and Ocean Luna to unload and load containers, Johar to offload crude oil, Asant to unload DAP fertilizer and AP Sheron to load naphtha were berthed after the departure of four.
The ships, which departed were led by Sorena, Marine Trader, Kota Waruna and Izumo, while Mercs Kandy, Honor River, Ocean Luna, Johar and AP Sheron are due to sail out on Wednesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 79,033 tons comprising 11,674 tons of export cargo including 825 tons of rice and 67,359 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Wednesday: World Trust to load 15,000 tons of naphtha and Global Progress to unload and load general cargo.
KARACHI, Dec 10: A cargo volume of 20,598 tons, exclusively of import, was handled at the port during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Tuesday.
Berth occupancy also remained moderate as only three ships, Bunga Melati, Panamax Strength and K-Fortune were busy in unloading edible oil, wheat and coal.
Safmarine Kimely carrying containers was expected to take berth at Qasim International container Terminal.
