Benevolent fund for employees

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 2: District Coordination Officer Khusroo Pervaiz Khan on Monday distributed 1,000 cheques amounting to Rs5.5 million among 1,000 government employees from grade 1 to 16 under the benevolent fund.

For this purpose, a special cell under the directions of the DCO had been constituted which finalized all pending cases from 1999 to 2001.

TWO COMMIT SUICIDE: A woman and a man on Monday committed suicide in different parts of the district.

Rubina of Chak 26 took her life by taking poison after quarrelling with her family members.

Factory area police have handed over the body to her heirs.

In Shahdara locality, a jobless youth, Riaz, ended his life by taking poisonous syrup.

Police are going into the matter.
