South Africa drop Ontong

JOHANNESBURG, Dec 1: South Africa has dropped batsman Justin Ontong from the squad for the two remaining one day internationals against Sri Lanka.

Ontong scored six runs in his only innings in the one-day series, in the first match. He was dropped for the second when injured batsman Jonty Rhodes returned to the squad and did not play in the seven-wicket loss on Sunday.

Slow left-arm Robin Peterson, who is also a hard-hitting lower order batsman, along with batsman Neil McKenzie, were added to the squad, increasing its size to 15 players.
