KARACHI: Ten cars, 13 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Dec 1: Twenty-three vehicles — 10 cars and 13 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Sunday, police said.

Three cars were hijacked. Seven others were stolen.

Eight motorcycles were hijacked. Five others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Sunday to have recovered 13 vehicles.

RAIDS: Police conducted raids in search of leaders of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement and cordoned off several areas in Malir, including Khokhrapar, on Sunday.

A spokesman for the Haqiqi said police cordoned off Malir F1 and F2 and Saudabad just before Iftar, raided the houses of Sharif Khan and Asif Shaheryar, central leaders of the party.

Police arrested Tariq Naqvi on a road in Shah Faisal Colony, the spokesman added.

Police also raided the house of Abdul Qadir, the party’s Rabita secretary, in Lines Area, and that of Raza, sector in charge of the party’s New Karachi sector, in separate raids.
