KARACHI: 2 killed in traffic accidents

KARACHI, Nov 27: Two persons died in separate traffic accidents on Wednesday.

Police said that Shabir Ahmed, 12, was knocked down by a speeding tanker (LX-3475) near Saba Cinema roundabout in New Karachi Industrial Area.

The victim, who was riding a cycle, died on the spot. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy. Later, his body was handed over to his relatives following the completion of the legal proceedings, police added.

Police claimed to have arrested the errant driver Zafar and impounded the vehicle.

In another accident, a young motorcyclist was run over by a speeding truck (LFD-4038) in Nazimabad.

Police said the young motorcyclist Ali Mohammad Shaikh, 35, was riding his motorcycle (LFD-4038) when he was hit by the truck near Inquiry Office Nazimabad.

He was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the medicolegal officer. Police claimed to have arrested the truck driver Mohammad Juma and impounded the vehicle.
