Drawback on PVC cables allowed

ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: The Central Board of Revenue has allowed the facility of duty drawback on export of PVC insulated cables aimed at increasing its exports.

The repayment of customs duty on export of the same products would be effective from November 23, 2002, said a customs notification issued on Tuesday.

Provided the duty drawback would be allowed against showing of documents of imported PVC compound (cable grade), said the notification.

The duty drawback would be allowed at the rate of 7.80 per cent of the fob value on export of PVC insulated cables (general wiring) single core to 4 core up to 10 mmsq and its raw materials electrolytic copper cathode, PVC compound (cable grade); 5.33 per cent of the fob value on PVC insulated power cables or armoured power cables for underground installation or power cables insulated with cross linked polyethylene (single core to 4 core over and above 10 mmsq) and its raw materials electrolytic copper cathode, PVC compound (cable grade), aluminium rod to draw aluminium wire for armouring, polypropylene film or tape, polyethylene compound, polyethylene, semi conducting tape, copper foil or tape, polypropylene filler yarn, DBTDL (tinstab BL 277), triganox, VTMOS silane A-171, poly kote and steel wire.

And duty drawback at a rate of 5.32 per cent of the fob value was allowed on export of PVC insulated cables (control and special cables) and its raw materials electrolytic copper cathode and PVC compound (cable grade).
