40 uplift schemes to be completed

TIMERGARA, Nov 20: As many as 40 new development schemes would be completed in Tehsil Samarbagh, District

Dir lower, during the current fiscal year at a cost of Rs2.6 millions.

These schemes were finalized during a meeting of the Tehsil Assembly Samarbagh, held at the Tehsil Council building on Wednesday, with speaker Mohammad Abdullah in the chair and attended by the Tehsil Nazim, Qazi Hussain Ahmad and other Assembly members.

The meeting also unanimously approved naming Samarbagh stadium, which is to be completed at a cost of Rs2.1 millions and has already been approved by the NWFP governor, after the name of Capt Inam Shaheed, who also belonged to the same area.

The meeting also discussed problems and matters of immediate concern facing the Tehsil and took certain decisions in this regard.

Speaking on the occasion, leader of the house Qazi Hussain Ahmad, said that all the union councils of the Tehsil would get their due share in the developmental activities and no area would be deprived of its share in the uplift funds.

He asked the assembly members to constitute citizens community boards in their respective areas at the earliest to ensure the participation of the community in the developmental process and complete the uplift schemes as per the aspirations of the people and according to schedule.

Declaring the LG system in high interest of the people, he said, no body needs to worry about the fate of this system after the general elections as it has been provided constitutional cover and legal protection, and added this system has been very helpful in addressing the public problems and grievances at their doorstep.
