HYDERABAD, Nov 20: The regional police officer, Hyderabad, at an “orderly room” held here on Tuesday, rejected the appeals of five police officials who had been awarded different punishments for their poor performance.
One year service of inspector Ghulam Ali Awan of the Badin district had been forfeited for detaining a driver illegally when he was posted at the Tando Ghulam Ali police station.
Two years service of inspector Ali Nawaz Laghari of the Sanghar district had been forfeited for his failure to control kidnapping incidents in his jurisdiction and remaining absent from duty.
One year service of ASI Dodo Khan of the Mirpurkhas district had been forfeited for taking “Bhatta” from a drug pusher.
Police constable Khadim Hussain of the Dadu district had been dismissed from service on the charges of helping thieves.
Police constable Mohammad Umer of the Hyderabad district had been dismissed for remaining absent from duty.
ARRESTED: The Hyderabad region police have arrested seven outlaws in different areas of the region.
The Hyderabad district police arrested an alleged criminal and recovered one pistol and four bullets.
The Dadu district police and the Badin district police arrested one absconder each and the Thatta district police arrested two absconders.
The Mirpurkhas district police arrested an alleged criminal.
The Sanghar district police arrested an alleged criminal and recovered one revolver and four bullets.
DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES: DCO Mir Hussain Ali has directed the authorities concerned not to finalize payment to contractors till the standard of work of development schemes was cleared by the executing agencies.
He was presiding over a meeting of contractors, engaged in development works of the district government, at his office on Wednesday.
He directed the contractors to ensure the schemes were completed within the stipulated period. He asked the EDO, works, Habibur Rehman Memon, to identify the bottlenecks in payment to contractors to clear their liabilities.
LUMHS: The additional controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, announced here on Wednesday that the last date to submit examination forms for final professional MBBS, bi-annual examination of 2002, of the People’s Medical College for Girls, Nawabshah, had been fixed at Dec 11 and with late fee of Rs200 at Dec 17.
