LAHORE, Nov 16: Pakistan Whites meet Pakistan Juniors in the opening match of the NBP league hockey tournament to be played from Dec 20 to 26 to select a pool of players for finalising Pakistan team for future events.

Three teams are participating in the competition with Pakistan Greens comprising senior players being the third team.

In all, six matches will be held, three at National Hockey Stadium from Dec 20 to 22 and three in Faisalabad from Dec 24 to 26.

The newly-appointed national selection committee headed by Akhtar Rasool with members Hasan Sardar, Salim Nazim and Saeed Khan will pick the probables for the pool after watching the matches.

Following is the schedule of matches:

LAHORE.

Dec 20: Whites vs Juniors.

Dec 21: Greens vs Juniors.

Dec 22: Whites vs Greens.

FAISALABAD.

Dec 24: Whites vs Juniors.

Dec 25: Greens vs Juniors.

Dec 26: Whites vs Greens.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has called 13 more players in addition to 65 who have already been invited for the Whites training camp to be held at the National Hockey Stadium from Monday. Imran from Army has been instructed to report to the junior training camp which starts at Steel Sports Complex, Karachi from Monday.
