Duty on CNG plant flayed

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Nov 15: The chairman, CNG Dealers Association, Abdul Sami Khan, has criticized the government’s decision of imposing five per cent customs duty on the import of main component of CNG like compressor and dispenser. He said that the decision will increase the machinery cost, dealers’ investment and CNG retail prices.

In a statement, he said that the government had totally backed out from its earlier commitment to the CNG industry. He urged the government to exempt the CNG machinery and equipment from duty.
