KARACHI, Nov 15: Five ships carrying containers, high speed diesel and to load ethanol are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where three ships were berthed. They are: Al-Ihsaa, to unload and load containers, Windsor Castle to unload steel coils and Camroe Pride to offload crude oil.

Four ships, Al-Ihsaa, Chitral, Ocean Genius and Sima Bahar sailed out, while Beauty River, Mutiara, Mar Challenger, S.S. Leader and MOL Sincerity are due to sail out on Saturday.

Berth occupancy rose to 67 and 77 per cent both at the oil piers and the dry wharves respectively owing to larger handling of ships.

The total tonnage rose to 0.121m tons comprising 25,583 ton of export cargo including 2,865 tons of wheat and 2,570 tons of chrome ore and 95,809 tons of import tonnage including 50,982 tons of oil.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Shamreek Star, with chemicals and to load ethanol, Al-Maqwa, with 55,000 tons of high speed diesel, Hyundai Future, Izumo and Med Keelung, to unload and load containers.
