Dashing knock by Jafar

KARACHI, Nov 13: A dashing unbeaten 97 runs by left-hander Jafer Qureshi, enabled Afzal Sports to register an eight-wicket triumph over Bilal CC in the opening match of the Ford & Lord Ramazan cricket tournament played Wednesday.

Al Bilal deciding to have first use of the wicket after winning the toss, were bowled out for 135 runs in 19.5 overs with Mohammad Riaz the top scorer with 25.

Off-spinners Ghulam Haider three for 18, Babar Qureshi three for 17 and Mehmood Khan two for 20 share the bowling honours.

With opener Jafar in tremendous form, hitting eight boundaries and four sixes in his 46-ball innings, Afzal Sports reached the winning target in only 16 overs losing two wickets in the process.
