KARACHI, Nov 10: Transporters plying buses and coaches through Steel Township did not take their vehicles inside the Township on Sunday and parked them on National Highway forcing residents to walk a long distance to get buses.

Their action followed protest by Township residents on Friday against reckless driving and misbehaviour by drivers and conductors with commuters.

This action by transporters caused inconvenience,e specially to women, the sick and the elderly commuters as they had to walk up to the National Highway.

A girl student died and another was seriously injured as a result of reckless driving in the past 10 days. Reckless driving by bus and coach drivers has claimed many lives in the area in the past few years.—APP
