KARACHI, Nov 8: The second semester examinations 2002 at the University of Karachi will begin on Nov 15.

Deans of the faculties have released the schedules for compulsory subjects of honours (first and second year classes), while the department chairpersons have been asked to arrange the schedule of terminal examinations of third year (hons and Master’s) in such a way that the students could appear in the papers, which they are repeating now, without clashes in programmes.

According to BA (hons and subs) examination schedule, first year papers of Islamic studies/Ethics (comp) for Science, English (comp) for Arts would be held on Nov 15 from 8.30am to 11.30am, while papers of second year - Pakistan Studies (comp) for Arts, Urdu/Sindhi/Bengali/Hum (comp) for Science — would be held the same day from 12 to 3pm.

The first year papers of Islamic Studies/Ethic (comp) for Sciences would be held from 8.30am to 11.30pm on Nov 15, while second year paper of Urdu/Sindhi/Bengali/Humanities (comp) would be held the same day from 12 to 3pm.

A university statement said no examinations shoudl be scheduled before Nov 15 and after Dec 2. New academic session would begin on Jan 1.

exam forms: Karachi University has reopened the dates for submission of examination forms and fees for BA (pass), BSc (pass) and BCom annual examinations 2002 with late fees.

All such candidates who have not submitted their forms and fees so far could do so till Nov 16, with a late fee of Rs200. Examinations are likely to commence in mid-December.

date extended: Chairperson, Department of International Relations, Karachi University, has extended the date for submitting application forms for admission to BA (hons) and MA (previous) up to Nov 13, adds PPI.

Admission tests would be held on Nov 17 at 10am.

APTITUDE TEST: The Department of Business Administration, KU, has said aptitude tests for MBA, both in evening and morning shifts, would be held on Nov 10 at 10am.
