Malaysia buys Pakistani, Indian wheat

SINGAPORE, Nov 8: Malaysia has signed a deal to import 30,000 tons of Indian wheat for December shipment and more contracts are likely to be finalized soon, regional traders said on Friday.

“In addition to this latest sale, we might see some more sales of Indian wheat to Malaysia,” said a Singapore trader.

A Malaysian trader confirmed the sales.

In addition to cargoes from India, Malaysian traders are also eyeing deals with Pakistan. Regional traders said some 40,000 tons of Pakistani wheat had been contracted for nearby shipments in the past few weeks.—Reuters
