GAZA CITY, Nov 7: A group of Palestinians kidnapped a German worker with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Thursday in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, the organization said.
An ICRC spokeswoman said Nikolai Panke was seized while helping to distribute ICRC aid in Khan Yunis.
“The kidnappers have telephoned us, and we were able to speak with the delegate,” she said, adding that the ICRC had contacted the Palestinian Authority over the incident.
Palestinian security sources said one of the kidnappers was a policeman who was angry with having lost his job.—AFP
