France contests US daily’s story

PARIS, Nov 7: The French government said on Wednesday it would demand that The Washington Post publish its reply to accusations that appeared in Tuesday’s issue of the US daily, accusing it of possessing illegal stocks of the smallpox virus.

A spokesman denied at briefing that France had the human variety of the virus in any of its laboratories.
