RAWALPINDI, Nov 5: The additional district and sessions judge, Mohammad Sarwar Sidhu, on Tuesday awarded death sentence to a man for murdering his wife.

According to the Westridge police, Mohammad Javed, the convict, had killed his 16-year-old wife Shazia by beating her with a steel rod just after three months of their marriage.

Interestingly, when the court was about to announce the verdict someone told the judge that the accused had escaped from the court premises. However, later it was found that the man had not been brought by the police from Adiyala Jail due to its negligence. The judge directed the police to bring the man in a special van to hear the decision.
