Iraqi oil exports up

NEW YORK, Nov 5: Iraqi oil exports nearly quadrupled to 2.76 million barrels per day in the week ended last Friday, UN officials said on Tuesday.

The four-week average for exports in the oil-for-food programme, however, is 1.78 million bpd, compared with Iraq’s sustainable export rate of 2.2m bpd.

Exports for the week ended Oct 25 were 729,000 bpd.

The surge in exports was led by an increase in the flow of Basrah Light from Mina al-Bakr, Iraq, to 1.7m bpd from 286,000 bpd, UN officials said. Eight ships loaded. Exports of Kirkuk from Ceyhan, Turkey, rose to 1.06 million bpd from 443,000 bpd, with six ships loading, UN officials said.—Reuters
