Munir becomes CJ twice in 2 days

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31: Justice Munir A. Sheikh was sworn in as acting chief justice, second time in two days, when Chief Justice Shaikh Riaz Ahmad left for India on a five-day visit, his second in two months.

Earlier, Chief Justice Shaikh Riaz had gone to attend the Saarc law conference, and on Thursday he left for India to attend the conference on “South Asian Judicial Colloquium on Access Justice”.

Justice Munir A. Sheikh, the senior-most judge, had taken oath on Oct 29 as acting chief justice when Chief Justice Shaikh Riaz Ahmad became acting president.

On Thursday he was again sworn in as acting chief justice by Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui.
